Does anyone know who designed this line? I've read that it was manufactured by Lane Altavista. Thanks.

Lane still exists today as a company who sells items much like Lay-Z-Boy, Broyhill, etc. Mainly for big box furniture stores. It is my guess that they were the same way back when, but 'leaned' slightly modern because of its popularity at the time. I doubt they valued or marketed named designers. This is just a guess.

I believe in rehabilitation for designers gone wrong.
As for drug addicts, I agree with Limbaugh, they should be thrown in jail.

The ordinary/banal stuff was usually "designed" by captive/staff designers. Please take some time and compare/look at the (good stuff)...but if you still love it...no crime...
