And my boy Mr. Chopper is in love with it. I plan to hang it out on the patio...hopefully the salt air won't be unkind to it.
It is unmarked, and heavy.
Best, Aunt unMarked, and getting heavy, also.
ps I probably paid way too much for it ($300 USD)....but it was a charity sale.

I like it, and it looks like Mr Chopper approves too.
I am looking for something like this to go above my spiral staircase.

I think
it's a Marc Creates. Let me see if I can find a link (the old man died but the family still makes his designs). I have a smaller, but similar, one over my mantle.
The labels are usually on the back and are pretty small, smaller than a postage stamp
and NO, you did not pay too much....

Jesus, waffle...you are correct!
I would have flipped it over, but it's so fuc%in$ sharp, and I didn't want to damage my Thanksgiving manicure. I would like to hang it vertically outside, unless you or anyone else thinks differently.
Many thanks,
Aunt Mark creates.
ps the $300.(silent auction) included a divine luncheon at Mar-A-Lago...and I can use the tax deduction.

yeah
mine is equally dangerous.
You can date them by the labels. The older ones can get pretty pricey, the repo's are pretty reasonable.

?
Is mine old or new? or somewhere in the middle? And will the salt air destroy it?
Best,
Aunt Mark

I think
it is from the 70's. My sticker is slightly different but I have seen yours on ones from that period.
I think it would rust like crazy, but that is your call. You could always spray it with marine shellac or somesuch if you are not that concerned about it's treatment.

Thank you so much, waffle.
I must ponder. If I don't hang it on the terrace, it'll probably end up in my storage facility. But for only $300., I shouldn't be so concerned about rust. I'll take a puff, and decide later.
You are great,
Aunt Mark

My original plan
was to repaint the brown walls the same shade of white as the interior color, repaint or replace the wall lamps..and hang the bad boy below the lamp. I wanted it to be illuminated at night. But now I'm concerned that I will have rust spots wicking down the white painted wall. I need another puff. Thanks again to all.
Your Aunt Mark
ps notice new impact resistant doors. They are so smooth. I replaced all 12 doors, and 6 windows. I like 'em.

I remember seeing one on...
I remember seeing one on ebay once that was from a beach house in New England, and it was incredibly rusty, so I'd imagine yours would meet a similar fate. If you're intent on using it outside, I think it needs to be coated somehow (better to "ruin" it by preserving it, than to ruin it by letting it rust, I suppose). Obviously the best solution would be to find a use for it indoors though. That said, I think it would look amazingly sharp in that spot.

rust...
is so beautiful
embrace the brutalist rust
and OGD cries...
rust is in the air
new tetanus shots for all
of Mark's naked guests
rust is exquisite
outside... it will go
nicely with chopper
(and the orange might light up well on that dark wall, even in the daytime?)

Awkward composition with that fixture there,
but it's sure a great idea.
A conservator would probably want to coat it with some kind of Acryloid with specialized additives. I'd worry that simply letting it rust might obscure the nice variations on the flat elements. It's worth asking around, IMO.
