Hello

My husband and I purchased a door size black and white canvas of the Eifel Tower. We hung it in a room with cathedral ceilings. We had to adjust the height a few times and thepicture now looks wrinkly on the one side. We tried to fix it however only made it worse. Any suggestions??? Can we put steam on it?
I would appreciate any feedback.
Joanne

.
Check the frame that the fabric is wrapped on -- has it come loose at the corners ? Is the fabric stapled to the frame ?
What did you do exactly to attempt to correct the problem ?
It is possible that the frame needs a cross bar at the center to keep the fabric stretched taut.
I would suggest taking the piece to a picture-framing shop for professional attention.

thank you
Thanks for your response. It is not stapled. There are tracks where you put the canvas in and then you put a tightly fitted bar. We just took it out and tried putting stretching the fabric more and then put the bars back in place.

Yeah, that's tricky, probably because the initial installer had extra fabric to pull on (consistently) while inserting the bars. Then the excess was trimmed off. So you had nothing to pull on -- and "consistent" is the important word.
If you can get a stapler (the kind that people use to put flyers on telephone poles) you could pull out the bar(s) and instead use staples to fasten the fabric. Pulling on the fabric and stapling it near the edge of the rear surface of the frame should work; if there are still wrinkles you can pull the staples at the wrinkle and re-stretch.
Best of luck.

dents in paintings on...
dents in paintings on canvas, an object pressing against it, is often corrected
with a spritz of warm water on the back.
if it is computer printed on canvas, water may affect the front image, so tricky.
water does not usually 'bleed through' . a tiny test would not hurt it. and most
recent printed images are on a fairly tight weave. you could test on a bit hidden
by the grab bars.
