So heavy that I can barely pour the boiling water into the cup. The handle gets damn hot as does the latch to the spout. I guess I should use a pot holder.

That said, I love it, and will suffer a little inconvenience for beauty.

This is supposed to be in Good Design gone Bad
And I can't move it. Sorry.

I agree...
Beautiful design, but the finger hole that pulls the spout open gets so hot, it's impossible to use without a pot holder or cloth.

Wouldn't then...
... it be a failure as a design?
Regardless of aesthetics, if you can't use the thing without risk of personal injury, it seems to me that it does not function. I would call that a design fail.
Or, you could simply change the name from Sapper tea pot to Sapper sculpture and enjoy it as an artwork. Maybe it succeeds more as a work of art than a functional object?

It is now retired
The handle melted a little (gas on too high) and made it shaky while pouring scalding hot water. Not worth the risk anymore. I had to junk it sadly, and kept the brass whistle. A nice little functional sculpture.
