Seems y'all were stumped with my octagonal chair post back on the 4th, (as am I...still)so here's another one for ya to chew on a bit...

It's a clear, thick, HEAVY, and bubble textured slab of cast glass bent into a cylinder shape and fused closed with one long seam.

A round gold foil sticker on base reads "Made In Italy, Murano" in red letters.

Any thoughts of the maker?

change
who ever the maker is the lamp deserves a much better shade suited to its dimensions. This one is looking like a bad hat at a wedding.

Don't know the maker.
Interesting lamp, though.
I wonder if its charms wouldn't be shown off to better effect with a different shade-- maybe a squat white silk drum shade, and a taller harp so a little bit of the neck were visible?
(I know you weren't asking for shade opinions, but this combination is kinda like a beautiful woman wearing an icy transparent dress... and a khaki fishing cap. She needs a different hat, and more decolletage.)

The hat analogy is common, I guess.

shady comments
...perhaps a red hunting hat with ear flaps would be better?
No, thanks for the comments...it's the shade I found it with, and I've had a bit of a problem with it too. Decolletage is a good way to say it.

ARRGHH Got a few minutes...
ARRGHH Got a few minutes while something is in the oven (have you searched the list of manufacturers on the wikipaedia entry for Murano glass?)...anyway, that Alibaba.com site is selling this pseudo Murano shite, nothing is sacred.
Maybe a rich plum coloured shade ?

After scouring the murano...
After scouring the murano glass wikipedia links, and glancing at the alibaba(?)as you oh-so-kindly suggested...I still am no closer to an ID than I was before.
However, I was able to scrounge up a couple picts of the label on the bottom of the lamp on fossilfy's murano glass forum label library (top 2, upper right page 6), which is no help as it is generic.
As the lamp may be.
