"if you change your mind about the colour I suppose you can re-colour it in a different shade."???
This i don't quite understand. You're suggesting that I could or should reupholster the LC2 sofa? If the leather wasn't near new, i would be buying it. The leather better last for the rest of my life!

i dont like to disagree with any of my fellow Design addicts but i would not recommend dyeing your own furniture at all.
At the upholstery business that i own, we have guys who have 29 years experience and they dye every thing from bucket seats to outdoor boating seats, and also vinyl
But.... they have years of experience and it is not only difficult to do very messy, the average do it yourself is at a unfair advantage cause of the special leather dying materials that are sold to the trade, i would be afraid to purchase any of the home depot Lowes products, as this is a very difficult and tedious process and should be done by people who have experience in this.
Have no fear...
I wouldn't dream of EVER dyeing leather myself....not me, man.
If I bvuy this sofa, it's because I LOVE the carmel colored leather and i expect it to be in the condition as pictured.
It's a hjolly sight more interesting than the standard black.
You should look at cassinausa.com. They have picture of their furniture in all sorts of colors. The red frame is especially nice.
Hrmmm....
Interesting ideas. If I want to dye my couch using neopolitan ice cream should i melt it all at once, or do it in sections? Or is it impractical to use neopolitan as it has three flavors, but my couch only has two cushions? Should I divvy up the cushions between the colors or just scrap the whole thing and go for Rocky Road?
;-D
What is "neopolitan ice cream...
What is "neopolitan ice cream"?
I wouldn't stain any materials with ice cream anyway, while tea is excellent for the purpose. If you don't believe it, just try it on a piece of fabric or on a pair of shoes that you are prepared to damage (in case it doesn't work) and you'll see that it colours it in a light shade of beige.

We haven't heard back from Sammyman.
My favorite for viewing movies so far is Olive's Neo. and a close second
is the Polder...but i like a lounge extension.
Mine is a custom built in 1962 left by the previous owners. Fantastic for
film viewing but not fit to print. Giant corner unit, foam and down, covered
in brown wool. A bit 'funky town', but hard to let go.
I can't find a comparable replacement that fits two adults and two large
lounging dogs.
I think i'll get it re-built and new fabric.
I have the original drawings in the house folder. Crazy that you could just
custom build a sofa for a reasonable price in '62. I've had two sofas since
'90 that were not worth saving or bringing to my new home...
