I am starting a new thread as it does get a little tiring when it goes to 100. hard on the finger mouse.
I personally can not remember any thread being as popular as this thread other than the vase project,
I think we all have something to say and contribute on this subject, simple, but fun and interesting.
I would like to thank every one who contributes and adds comments to this thread about Nelson clocks cause it is always interesting and you can learn something all the time,
This thread is also like a free for all for some reason .
it would be nice if Patrick and Alix our gracious host who provide us with this wonderful forum out of the kindness of there hearts ( like being invited to there home in Belgium eating great chocolate's in their living room, would add a column so we could all add our own favorite thoughts and bull shit ( no no no not a blog ) just your favorite thoughts and ideas in addition to the threads .
You can read the previous thread 'More about Nelson Clocks 2' here:

hmm, I don't think so -- I'd imagine it's a Howard Miller clock from the post-Nelson era (i.e., 70s). Still using the Nelson hands, but otherwise fairly boring. What's the clock face made out of (or covered in)? I remember you talking about the clock earlier and I noticed that it wasn't on ebay...did you buy it?
Last time I looked...
...it was still on eBay as a 'buy it now'. It's not too exciting. I think the clock face is a wood panel like the rest of it. Well made but understated, to be sure.
And the godd*mn thing about who made it is since idiot publishers like Schiffer won't allow a book to be written, who the heck knows when Nelson Associates actually stopped working with Howard Miller?
i have looked at that ...
i have looked at that clock several times and i agree with my comrades it is not that cool
If it did not have the hands we would not have given it a second look
anyone know any thing a bout the aurora clock
this guys says he makes them and sells them for 450.00 kinda pricey if you ask me
none the less i have enclosed the link he calls his company chrono art clocks
http://www.chronoart.com/
any one have any idea
AS we are all aware there are 100's of different style Howard miller clocks from 1955 to 1975 out there
any one have any idea if Howard miller was precluded from producing any clocks with the nelson hands other than the clocks that came out of the nelson design office???
I can not believe that clock that Barry posted from ebay
would be a Nelson original (just seems like not his style)
with the pendelom and the wood.
Of course I am only speculating and have no direct information but something must have happened between the Nelson office and Howard Miller for all those great designs just to be come extinct,
Now i do know that Howard miller did retain some rights to the ball clock and astrick as they not only reproduced them starting in 2002 they also made them in 1983 with the current quartz movement but that was short lived, according to company sources that i have talked to, so if you see any other nelson quartz clocks with the Howard miller sticker on them they were from the short lived period of the 80's
holy moly look at me,
check this one out on ebay a brass astrick from 1955 with a wooden back .. the Dude wants 1000 bucks for it, so i guess it is real if not, it is his issue ...
I have never seen this one in brass, or listed in any of the modern auction houses, what do you think the number for your viewing on ebay is 290197913517 . oh yes he already has drawn a bid ,
are you out there midmod50 ? this could be one you! If you do not have in your collection if you do perhaps you can enlighten us about this one,
Lloyd:
Yea, I saw the clock. He said it's been 'refinished' (i.e. repainted), so I pointed out that the clock was hardly worth $400.00 these days.
Also, regarding the clocks I got from AllWorld, the Steering Wheel is my least favorite of the clocks I ordered friom All World. With white walls, the silver hands are difficult to see...they should've been painted black.
I don't remember how well the marking on the wheel were originally, but the markings here are just sticky tape. Still, worth the $42.00
lafonada chairs
270203459924 Here is the number for someone who has listed two lafonda chairs with H bases and says they have no idea what they are,
If you just need the chairs and have the stands they would be good to go after
If i needed them I would pay up to 150 for both , as a lafonda stand will resurface some time, on ebay, and then you would have a set,
