Hello . . . Picked up this chair at the weekend. The seller was unsure of maker/designer but mentioned Peter Hvidt and also Sibast. I thought it looked more like Moller and the nearest I could find was Model 57 by JL Moller. The upholstery is not original as it was done by the sellers son a year or two ago. Any info appreciated.

The
backrest on the Moller 57 doesn't curve like that one.

I have a book that identifies those as Rastad & Relling, Norway. I will try to post an image in a bit.

robert1960: Yes, backrest is differant. Dimensions differ also, my chairs is larger than the Moller.

Google search of Rastad & Relling shows the chair to be from their "Bambi" range c1954.

The book I have is "A Treasury of Scandinavian Design", edited by Erik Zahle, published in 1961. It has sections on furniture, ceramics, glass, jewelry, and textiles.
