I have seen these Mogens Kolds chairs offered for sale quite a few times, always identified as Moller. I assume that is because they bear somewhat of a resemblance to a Moller #71 chair, and are not actually a Moller design?

Thats right, they are very...
Thats right, they are very similar to the 71s but nothing to do with Moller.
They are designed by Hovmand-Olsen.
Very nice chairs all the same.

Thanks a lot
I was pretty curious about it. The detail images I have seen of the Mogens Kolds chairs show the lamination layered construction, and initially I did not realize that part of the chair back on my own Moller 71 chairs was a similar plywood construction (I had thought it was solid wood), but the layers are concealed by veneer on the top edge of the 71's chair back. I did not notice the layers until I looked at the bottom edge of the chair back.

Ditto, I only noticed that my 71s had laminated back rests upon closer inspection sometime after I had them.
The visible layers on the Hovmand-Olsen chairs is a nice feature though.

Yes, I agree
that the lamination is an attractive detail. They are very lovely chairs.
