Hi, Any help much appreciated on this one! I have a stunning Art Deco silver plated teapot. Very modernist looking. High Quality. Some age wear. Hardwood handle and knob. It is stamped underneath 25G (in a box) and then CD (in a box with a small almost circular moulding). It is very bauhaus, but cannot find any reference to a Christian Dell teapot. Not really Christopher Dresser looking (also would have Hukin & Heath or other marks). Any ideas?
Many thanks, Jono.
For what it's worth
Below's a link to a Christian Dell silver (900) teapot, marked with CD monogram. (Also, reference in text to silver plated examples).
If nothing else, proof he made teapots.
Good luck--

Nice
Interesting piece.
Art deco, cubisim, art nouveau, interestings periods we don't see much here on DA.
Fresh air on this neo-MCM-era.
On Wilson and Woof-woof questionable use, I could see that, and now that's shown the piece open I could add, that can see that's dificult to clean it inside, but provably cause I like the piece lot, I'll say:
Remember that this is a piece pre 'form over function' (art deco /pre/ modernism). So thinking on that I'd re-value the proto-racionalism they show. And much better than many Alessi pieces produced 100 years later that suerly (again many) works even worst.
Fresh air on this neo-MCM-era.
