Very nice. I'll try to make it down.
This exhibit reminds me of one of Wright's Modern or Scandinavian auctions with plenty of good eye candy, except with the once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to sit in certain rare pieces to see how they feel.
Also, aside from the reddish tone, I find the cover photo in the first post stunning: a Chieftain framed by the curve of an Egg. Brilliant.
Glad you like it cdsilva
All of their magazine covers are duotone as full color is cost prohibitive, but here is the original image in color.
ChairLove, all of the pieces are from our personal collection. We still do not have a final piece count, but it's probably between 150 and 175 different designs.
this is unbelievable
Pegboard Modern,
Your personal collection in this show is beyond reproach. I have seen similar pieces in museum shows composed of many individuals gifts or loans and quality of this nature at Luminaire Chicago and Moss in Soho (closed), but never as a man and wife collecting (not in the business).
I would tell and show my wife this story and pictures, but it would fall on deaf ears and eyes with no vision. I collect in the same fashion across the board. Other than what I use, the rest is in storage (climate controlled on property) inventoried (including descriptions and financials), photographed, packed, labeled (printed Avery) and sorted by category. I am not in any business (except monkey) and she is pissed. I take the Citizen Kane approach to collecting. I will be done when I am dead.
Once again I am impressed by the excellent taste that is required to assemble a collection of this scope and quality. Congratulations to you and your wife.
Effective immediately I will read your post with care to acquire more knowledge in this area of my collecting. To be a good map maker a person must show others his work. Thank you for showing me yours.
