Thanks for all the encouragement here. You have no idea how excited we are. It doesn't even seem real yet.
This solidifies my admiration for architect Chris Krager. Very few modern architects put their money where their mouth is - making truly affordable modern residences that are sustainable. He truly is a good example.
What I like about his work has nothing to do with any new forms being made - but his ability to bring good design to the low/middle class. His techniques for making it affordable and sustainable, though, is newer frontier in my mind. He has had no problem getting high dollar commissions, but he has kept his design ethics and mission at the front. Some might say he is just doing his job, but he could be doing something else besides realizing dreams for people who cannot do it themselves. Now I don't have to describe good design to my son when he comes along .... he can wake up in it.
