I grew up on hard surface floor lino tile over concrete( mid century architect designed house ).My parents have retained the same type foor for 40 plus years...resisting both the wall to wall, shag era.Babies will fall but they dont fall far..you could have large area rugs over concrete flooring. All extremities are crossed for luck on your new abode:)

I know I will find out next week, but any way to guess the approximate square footage of each room by knowing the total square footage?

Hard to say, but for the mc1240 I'm guessing each of the modules to be about 16 x 32, which would make the bedrooms with the bath seperating about 16 x 13, or around 200 sf. Difficult to guess square footage for the less symetrical models, like the 1433. These are really neat. Hoping the best for you, whitespike.

and boy do I feel anxious! Like the first day of school, asking a girl out, a job interview, or trying out for American Idol ....

What if
What if you skipped the first day of school to interview for a job on American Idol and you met a nice girl that you REALLY wanted to ask out? And what if her father was famed international design superstar Gianni Sacca Di Frutta? How nervous would you be then? I mean, by comparison this house thing should be easy 🙂
Break a leg!

YAY!
Congrats whitespike...I'm thrilled for you. As for the energy eficient fridges and W/D...well...they ain't cheap. Period.
I can send you some web site resources that help you wade through the greenwashing and help you calculate the savings.
Bosch, Fisher Paykel, Haier, LG, and Leibherr have very good products. Unfortunately they have pretty high price tags as well. It's sort of an upfront investment for best return on operating efficiency. Lousy, but that's the deal.
And, blush blush...yes, I know I need to get going on the blogging, but I'm so flippin' busy getting ready to sell/move and doing a job search that I can't think!
