Just got this lamp from a friend today. Any ideas on the maker or designer? There are no identifiable markings on it that I can find.
Thanks,
Eric

Yes, it definitely needs a drum shade. Interesting idea about the tangerine color. Assuming I keep it, it will be going in the same room as an orange\tangerine DAR chair.
Thanks,
Eric

Pic
Afraid the lamp wasn't very well 'illuminated' (pun entirely intended) in this pic. I'm trying to get the two chairs and two pictures to cohabitate nicely in an office/study. Ignore the loveseat and floor lamp. Those'll be going in another room.

Whatever you do,
put that lamp on a very low end table or it'll just tower over everything.

Good point
Thanks Spanky. Any ideas on the lineage of the lamp?
Thanks,
Eric

I believe it would
would look good (or, look well, as my well-meaning mother would have said) in a dark closet, behind the coats. Put it on the floor, where, unfortunately, it will still tower over the galoshes . . .

LOL
Yes, you may have something there, SDR. There may a reason this lamp was gifted, and not sold. 🙂

Really, it isn't
that bad -- thanks for your good humor. I've seen worse (we all have, I'm sure) ! The walnut (?) base is not run-of-the-mill, is it . . .

SDR,
That was quite funny. I sprayed "happy hour elixir" out of my nose (which is so much more civilized than spraying "happy hour elixir "out of a stranger's nose).
The lamp has a hipster future.
Best, Old Mark

large lamp
I think of myself as a 'lamp whore' (hoping this doesn't offend).....and I can't leave a large lamp on the shelf. The only problem is that you must have a huge harp to set that huge shade on. Thrift stores can be wonderful for mondo shades if you have the patience. How tall is this very large lamp?? I'v been known to replace wooden bases...
