The rules of the game
By the rules what Rago has done now with their current auction is OK by the letter of the law. They are not stating that the chair is designed by Paul McCobb (as in previous auctions) but rather saying that it has been "attributed" to Paul McCobb. In it's way this is a tacit admission that they do not know who designed it but are not willing to reverse their previous claim thus the "attributed" disclaimer. It is TRUE that the chair has been attributed to Paul McCobb. They are not saying that it was designed by Paul McCobb, just that it has been attributed.
The question this raises is "what qualifies an attribution as being credible?" I maintain that "I saw it on the internet" is not a credible attribution, no one is editing the internet for content... Also the line given me by a reputable antiques source stating that "this attribution is an industry standard" is also crap. Just because someone else got it wrong does not mean that the next person has to get it wrong too.

Straylight
I enjoyed reading Gibson's books and when presented the task of finding a uniqueish name/tag I chose straylight (in reference to the straylight villa taken from one of Gibsons novels)_
