I have a matching pair of McCobb Perimeter Group dressers by Winchendon that I plan on refinishing cuz someone painted them yellow many years ago.
Im interested in info on original color options or perhaps the cocktail used for wood finish.
Also, Ive scoured google world for same drawer configuration with no luck. Does anyone have literature with pictures of this piece.
Thanks, in advance, for your assistance.
I know
you meant Perimeter group and not Planner. I had a great discovery with a planner piece that I would use if they were mine. A credenza on a separate base I have had that beautiful light amber tone of the type that is the lightest of the planner pieces. When I took the cabinet off the base for the first time since it was new I discovered a completely clear finish. I would do that since it is original and you wont be matching any old finishes. I dont have the info you seek, but would think natural would be a safe bet on one of the options.
In the pic note the color on the right edge. that is what the rest of the piece looks like as well as virtually every other planner piece I have seen. Only having always been sealed away from light and oxygen as it had a good furniture polish and dust seal between it and the case above, as well as a heavy marble slab on top keeping the two parts tight together, had let this perfectly preserved finish example be discovered.
