Another eames real or copy question.

It comes from an estate of a rather famous living Australian artist and the auction house is unsure of it's orgins....and I wouldn't mind a comfortable chair for once in my life.

I sat in one last week and was impressed

Apart from the obvious cyclops look of the added buttons the dimensions look good.
Are those drilled bolts holding the shockmounts in place or are they stickers?

David Bromley....I would expect an artist of his statue, although I'm not a fan, would have a real Eames

A friend of mine who is an artist in Australia recently auctioned off his collection, so was wondering if I could help.

Nice collection that friend of yours had.
I'm a bit suprised he had an 'after' Eames chair given the quality of his collection

Cushion's buttons
If it's original, It's strange that he retuffed each back cushions with a series of 3 buttons instead of the original 2... and the seat cushion seem to be tuffed with four buttons??? Or maybe the cushions aren't original...
but If they are, that's ok: it's halloween tomorrow.. As for the rest of the chair, I really couldn't tell...apart that it would be a Vitra one.... Does the inside of the sheel is also veneered?

why do people not post the photos you need?
If you have a chair that looks like a Eames chair, why just post the picture of the chair from afar?
Close ups of the base and bolts under the arm rests etc. are the sort of thing that will show up a fake.
From a distance - as in this photo - a chair is going to look like the real thing - that is why we call them fakes.
Close ups of the craftsmanship will help the experts on this site to help you to help yourself.
I'm saying this now because there are experts on this site (I am not one) that get their time expended on this often.
