Really dig this seat. It's a bit ragged, though, with a kind of egg-crate foam thing happening on the cushions, general foam deformation, and the arm-rest threads coming apart (bought it this way). Objectively, then, worth a restore or no?

Nice chair, it will certainly be cheaper to reupholster than to purchase an equivalent chair at retail, so if this tickles your fancy for your own personal use it could be worthwhile to you if you tend to spend that kind of money on such things...
but if you are looking to sell it when redone I think you may have a tough time getting your money back out of it.

see my replies to post titled "who made me, what do people call me?" on the saarinen chair by knoll. if conservation (as opposed to restoration) is the direction you want, the same techniques could be applied.

will do! i'm loving this site. i've learned so much so far. hope to be able to contribute more than naive questions in the future 🙂
I do wonder, though, about the thread at the corners of the armrests. would those count as "holes" or "rips" and thus discourage conservation?
