When the shouting has ended at the Marimekko for Target promotion I hope to acquire higher priced (Kukkatori print bicycle and Kaivo print paddle board as an example) items at extreme (less 75%) discounts.

Niceguy, it is good that stores like Target makes good designer products available to the masses. It would be great if they could keep the successful (and hopefully useful) items long term instead of phasing them out every season like an ephemeral fad. The other side of making things very affordable is that it also promotes disposability.
minimoma,
I do regret the negative side of mass merchandising. The introduction of Marimekko patterns (albeit on some unusual items) to a new generation is strong for the plus side.
Outside of corporate profit I see this Marimekko cross merchandising as a good thing. I will be prepared to "glean the fields " of sale items at the conclusion of the event.
I have the 1970's Ingrid Ltd Marimekko travel wine cooler with ice pack cross merchandising effort. It is fun
