Hi there, I just purchased a Danish secretary. There is a makers mark, but it is hard to make out. There is a diamond shape with a bar line disecting it horizontally. In that line, there is a name but since it is an ink stamp, it has blead and is unreadable. Above that, but still inside the diamond there is a M, and above the M a circle with a slash inside. Below the bar there is some other writing I cannot make out and below that 1892.
Any ideas?????
Thanks all!
Perhaps you could locate one...
Perhaps you could locate one of those small black/sometimes silver mechanized devices? They consist of a body and often have numerous buttons and switches. Usually there is also a ground or molded piece of glass, plastic, or other transparent material with opposite surfaces either or both of which are curved. Light rays are refracted so that they converge or diverge to form an image. Then, you could use this device to capture an image of the mark-- that you could then post in this thread.
