I recently purchased a small mahogany ladies from a local antique shop. They acquired the desk from an old hardware warehouse in Petersburg, Va. Since I am originally from Petersburg and I liked the size and lines of the desk, I paid the $150.00 the merchant was asking. It has three small drawers on each side of the five pigeon holes on the console. The top writing surface has a leather oval inlay with gold leaf trim. The main body of the desk has two small drawers and one large center drawer. The drawers and legs are gold leaf trimmed and the two front legs have a wood oval inlay. The legs are simple tapped.
