Great suggestions here.
When considering your choices, though--please keep in mind ease of reading the number from the street! SO many house numbers don't show up well, either because they don't contrast enough with the house or trim color or because of poor lighting. Or they're too small. Or they're vertical instead of horizontal (sorry, Leif). Or---HORRORS---they're spelled out! (Not that that's an option you'd ever see in this forum.)
It's not even so much for people who are looking for your house as it is for people trying to figure out if they're close to their destination, if they're going in the right direction at all, etc.
I used to live near a stretch of street that had a lot of lawyers' offices in old houses. They had house numbers about a foot high to make it easy for clients to find them. I'm not suggesting you go nuts like that, but you get the idea. On the other hand, if there's also a house number at the curb that is very easy to read from a cruising car, then ok, do whatever you want on the house itself.
Short answer: form AND function.

numbers
Hi Grendel, They are 5" and look exactly the same. I got them at the local Lowes building supplies, but maybe they sourced them from Hillman. I've had them over a year and they show no signs of tarnishing. I just checked the Lowe's website and they are $8 ea. in Canada and they are made by Hillman.
Jacobsen?
Came across these the other day- Arne Jacobsen.

Door looks good to me too tho...
Door looks good to me too though think it needs a colour.
I would not put the numbers in the same place they are now. Can anyone see them from the street under the porch roof?
Lots of house number options in the classified section/advert part of mags like Atomic Ranch.
