Hi, I'm very new to this so please pardon my ignorance! I just picked up a lovely vintage chair at a yard sale for next to nothing, and I believe it is mid century modern. Based on the photos I've been looking at, maybe 60's? Maybe teak wood? I could be wrong (like I said I don't know much about this type of furniture). The chair has lovely lines, which attracted me to it, and I think the fabric is original. It is also very well put together and sturdy. In great shape for the age! Anything you can tell me about possible decade of origin, wood, company or country this might have come from is appreciated! There is no tag or mark on it, but it looks like a tag may have been removed from the bottom.
(I'm also new to Flickr, so I hope I get the photo link right!)

The wood looks like
birch or maybe maple. Hard to tell which with the flash.

Yes, those two options both...
Yes, those two options both occurred to me and it might be. However, I have a birch dresser and a maple bedroom set, and I didnt think it was a perfect match to either. If its one of those, I'm leaning toward maple.
So, is this just a Run-of-the- mill chair? I had originally planned to recover it, but once I got it home and realized how nice it was, I wasnt sure. Didnt want to damage something special! If its generic, I will go ahead, though. I just love the shape of it! (The fabric color-- not so much.)

Hi
This looks like a contemporary (or fairly recent) take on a Danish-inspired lounge chair.

No two trees are
alike, as we say in the woodworking biz. In fact, two specimens of the same specie, found on different continents or even from different parts of the same county, will likely not be identical in appearance. Other factors affecting appearance in a piece of furniture will include the way the wood was cut from the tree, and the type, age, and condition of the finish.
