I was wondering if anyone recognises this lounge chair. I found this one on a British dealer's website and I recently saw one on another dealers website with a gorgeous rosewood frame but I can't remember where I saw it - that's helpful I know!

We've got a Gplan housemaster chair and I think this would go well with it.

I've gone through all the Gplan images on the hwfurniture archive but I didn't find it. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone had any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Yes, I Agree
I don't think it's British.

Thank you for your replies.
The frame is great isn't it, wish I could find the picture of the rosewood one to show you.
I'll try following up your Swedish suggestion and see if I can identify it.
The only reason I thought it might be British is that I found it on two British dealer's websites. That's not saying much for my detective skills is it?

Is it a period piece? I have never seen the design before, but, I have seen similar recent designs. I only ask as a design so unique should have made more of an impression if it is period.

Well, last week I saw this...
Well, last week I saw this chair in a secondhand shop and was stunned by it. All white version, made by Nelo /Sweden.
This firm made all sorts of expressionistic easy chairs, the last 30 years or so, but I had never seen one and never heard of the brand.
I think a lot of scandinavian brands produce quality stuff and sometimes real showpieces, but they often don't make the international design spotlight.
But I must admit, the feet makes one think this is a new producten (although the teak looks aged, no?).

Both the websites on which...
Both the websites on which I've seen it deal in mid century pieces and both listed them as "retro vintage". The frame does look in excellent condition. If you'd seen the rosewood version, the stunning grain makes me inclined to say it was mid century as I don't think you can get that in modern pieces.
Also, a lot of British designers of that time used flat chromed bars, Merrow, William Plunkett, Pieff.

I'm going to stick my neck on the line
I don't reckon it's any older than 20 years, it just doesn't feel like it comes from that era to me. It must take inspiration from MCM designs, but I reckon it's a much later piece.

Just to add, the cushions dont look right for the chair in the picture they dont appear to be the same shape as the frame and dont sit right. Maybe this is just the picture?
Whos website are they on?

I agree with you about the...
I agree with you about the cushions, they look far too big for the chair. I think the rosewood one I saw had fabric cushions and they definitely weren't as big as these ones.
Here's the link to the one above
