Hey guys, with the Australian dollar almost on parity with the Greenback, I'm heading to LA for 5 weeks to write my new novel. While I'm there i would love to invest in some lovely mid-century design objects. Do any of you know of any markets, etc where you can still pick this stuff up at a reasonable price?
I'll be meerting up with Eames Demetrius while I'm there (the grandson of charles and Ray) so that should be a bit of fun.
ALSO, haven;t been on the forum for a while, whatever happened to Koen?
Cheers
Stephen
In L.A. is a huge challenge...
In L.A. is a huge challenge to find reasonably priced mid century objects anymore. You can try the Pasadena Rose Bowl flea market (2nd Sunday/month), but it's littered with savvy pickers--some of them my friends.
Others will probably provide you with more references, but my guess is that it's a challenge.
Good luck on your hunt and on the novel.
