Hi. I recently found a vintage Herman Miller upholstered shell chair that I have never seen before. It seems to be an executive version of their upholstered fiberglass shell chair, with a taller back and more substantial padding. It sits atop a nice Aluminum Group tilt/swivel base, the kind that's more rounded.
I cannot find a photo of this particular model ANYWHERE online, nor are any of my keywords pulling up anything. Also, eBay searches for recently sold Herman Miller chairs turn up images of just about every other model under the sun except for this one.
Unfortunately, I don't have a photo of my own chair at this time.
Also wondering what the approximate value might be, as well as the best way to clean the rather dingy orange fabric.
Many thanks!
It's the "loose cushion" version...
Haven't had much luck cleaning Eames shell upholstery myself. Use something light and hope for the best. If it doesn't come out, live with it or reupholster it.
We're not disposed to giving out appraisals on the forum however. You should be able to have a look around to get an idea.
