Can you describe what the chair looked like? Was there any maker's marks?

It was a chair for your family room...
It was classic Danish Modern--thin wooden arms. Very simple form. The seat back narrowed slightly toward the top. I didn't think to ask about a mark. Dumb me. Frankly, the most notable thing was a ghastly green, yellow and white scotch plaid fabric, which the person said was original. It was not very pretty, but it was exceedingly comfortable, far more so than it appeared it would be.
Sorry I can't think of any more distinguishing characteristics.

I have to conclude that the chair I sat in must not be a Wegner...just doesn't look like any of his work.

Glad you found it. I personally never have been a fan of Wegner's designs for Getama - Is a very comfortable chair though as you say.
