.
A metal shop would probably do it for a 6pack. An IPA, not miller.
At least we would. With the lamp in hand, and the reference photo,
it could be done in 20 minutes. Are you in NY or Conn.?

SDR...
the original bracket is definitely too broad...with the distance it places the actual mounting post from the wall i would assume that it would be prone to failure...much more downward force would be exerted on the mounting plate and thus the mounting screws....especially when the lamp is extended....

Here are the pics of the wall bracket
Much different than the bracket shown earlier in the thread. This is original to the lamp and pretty heavy duty. At the end of the brass rod (at the wall mount portion of the accordion) there is a threaded cap as shown in the pic that allows the rod to be inserted into the bracket.

measurements
Sorry.....pics came out monster size.
PLATE:
Length: 7-7/8"
width 2"
center of hole is 1-1/8 inches from portion of plate that would be flush to the wall

Nice, jdip
That's more what I'd expect. It may be that the one in the earlier photo was a
"home-made" substitution -- after their original was lost ?
The stuff that drives historians to drink . . . !

Aha-- maybe the one in my photo IS a DIY substitution!
It does seem to jut out from wall unnecessarily-- Jdip's is much better.
If you didn't have the piece fabricated, maybe you could locate just the right little L-brackets, then mount one facing down, the other facing up. Not as purty, but it could work.
Studs, schmuds; SDR-- half of my possessions are wall-mounted and I wouldn't begin to know where my studs are. EZ anchors have never failed me (and, I'm talking heavy wall units laden with books, a television, turntable, receiver, etc).

Bumping this post.

Bumping this post.
So, this lamp is by Lightolier. I just picked up an adjustable floor/task lamp with this same shade & handle by Kurt Versen, according to the sticker on the bottom of my lamp. Meanwhile, this lamp is attributed to Gerald Thurston elsewhere on the 'nets.
Anyone know the relationship between Versen & Lightolier? Did Lightolier manufacture/distribute for Versen?

Comparing the lamps side by side, I realize that the shade of the Lightolier version flares out more than the Versen lamp. The handle, though, which seems to be the most distinctive aspect of this design is suspiciously similar though...

Pantograph Lamp by Thurston.
The original poster's lamp is called a "Pantograph Lamp". ( I don't know where I read that, but I have it written down on a list I made a while back)
I have this same wall mounted lamp in black with brushed aluminum extension mechanism. It has an opaque plastic diffuser that floats just inside the shade on three wire mounts, and it throws a really soft nice light.
Even if the diffuser is not present, it is a beautiful lamp!

Is the Versen tag on the inside of the shade or is on the base of your lamp? If it is on the base I would actually consider that yours may be the marriage of 2 lamps? The stem with the flexible gooseneck is defineitely something that Versen used as seen below in this old add.
