Here in the eastern U.S., guests are anticipated, the eclectic interior is dusted and swept, the bird is being prepped for the oven, and I'm thankful that I've finally hit on a way to illuminate that long, dark hallway! A trivial achievement, admittedly, in a year of horrors around the globe, but I need all the positive energy I can get. Anyone else care to share any design-related (or otherwise) gratitude-to-the-universe?
Thankful for escape
I am thankful this year for not having to participate in the usual family 'do'. My hubby has been traveling 80% of his time for a project since late June. We actually stayed home, cooked ourselves a nice meal, drank too much Pinot Noir and went to be early. I was indeed thankful for the peace, quiet and time alone with my best-loved one. However, now I am taking a beak between coats of paint for the walls of our latest home improvement project; a small wine storage cubby. So the peace and quiet was short lived.
