At the risk of violating the rules of this forum, I post this link to LETTERHEADY, a wonderful site devoted to vintage letterheads (pages & pages of 'em!).

(FLW's letterhead is included, so maybe the moderator will overlook this graphic design-related violation.)

Very good - another source
Great post! Never over look even the smallest detail. "Crane's Blue Book of Stationary - Tiffany Edition" is another source of classic design.

The Howard Hughes letterhead...
The Howard Hughes letterhead is kind of haunting, starkly minimalist. Kind of creepy almost, in retrospect, or spruce goosey.
Thanks for posting this, w-h-c. They are really fun to look at. If anyone has the Saab/Vonnegut stationary, complete with a doodle and would like to send it to me ...

Frank Lloyd Wright's stationary is baffling and self-indulgent---
his choice of horizontal format must have required that the paper be folded before typed upon (or, he used one of those enormous tabloid-size typewriters!).
I love a lot of the florid, engraved late 19th/ early 20th century letter heads-- imagine the skill required! Another letterhead site, below,
