The Lemaire Sanatorium located in Overijse, Belgium, is one of the first buildings built in Belgium. Its architect, Maxime Brunfaut is well known for his work during the 30'S. This huge and beautiful sanatorium is now abandoned since 1987. Junkies and vandals destroyed it even if this building is protected by the Flemish government. Please have a look to site www.abandoned-places.com of my frind Henk. You will see old and new pictures of this sanatorium. Please give me your reactions !

Sorry --
Where do I look for the photos, on this site ? It seems somewhat obscure (if lovely to look at). . .
Can I assume you meant "one of the first MODERN buildings in Belgium" ?
Happy New Year

Impressive photo's. The...
Impressive photo's. The building reminds me a lot of the Sanatorium Zonnestraal in Hilversum, Holland by Johannes Duiker. (1928) Which is also on the World Herritage list of the Unesco.
SDR, the pictures of the Lemair are on the Photo Gallery no.1 Then on the button on the bottom, just to the right.
