Laurel existed from at least the 1930s. Westwood Industries bought Laurel in the early 1980s, folded them into the main line and eventually moved production to Mexico. They were shut down completely by 1985. The "mushroom" shade was actually called "oval" by Laurel (the commonly referred to "acorn" was called "pear". Variations on this lamp were manufactured into the 1980s so probably close to 30 years.
