Acquired this recliner a while ago, but I just finished restoring it a few days ago. The afrormosia arms are stunning. It really is too bad that afrormosia was not used more. It is such a beautiful wood, especially when it has darkened a bit from light exposure. It was made by Stranda Lenestolfabrikk in Norway. It is a very unusual design with the semi closed and upholstered arms, and the convex armrests. No idea who the designer was.
Another casualty of our disposable culture. Unused early polyethylene 'Millionaire Line' cups by Tupper (later Tupperware) from 1946. Humble everyday icon of 20th century design included in the MoMA permanent collection. Also selected in 'An Exhibition for Modern Living' at the Detroit Institute of the Arts curated by Alexander Girard in 1949. Praised for its innovative machine aesthetic, functional, elegant and simple.

New cushions for my Mogens Kold lounger and a Gainey speckled planter (which I made a stand for out of wood scraps which were spared from a fiery death this winter ... kiln dried cherry burns real good).

I've just acquired a Karastan Kirman 717 woolen runner/rug from www.used.forsale/karastan-rug-717 managing to strike a deal with the seller paying $440 plus delivery, which seemed like a very fair price. The rug has just been professionally cleaned too so looks in superb condition.
