Tacky Treasures.
Hi
Some extra serving pieces of Versace Hot Flowers (2008). I needed an extra coffee pot, and wanted an extra creamer. I don't know why I bought the charger plate. Now I have 9. Maybe one will break. Maybe.
Bye,
Aunt Tacky
ps every home should have something tragically tacky and/or a French Poodle.
(edit) Sure do wish that I owned a big hunk of raw meat to sling on that fussy masculine plate. Somehow the fleshy parts might develop delicate floral undertones, and be much more palatable. Come on in.
I bought the Per Lütken Provence bowl for Holmegaard for a dollar. This type of crystal is out side my comfort zone (Baccarat, Daum, Venini, Steuben... are my areas of expertise or at the very least I have greater knowledge). Finnish glass makers identification of designers and manufacturers requires much more work.
waldorf your exterior Louis Poulsen sconces are fabulous. Congratulations.
mark I own the Versace Angel Gabriel 1995 Christmas plate for Rosenthal (initial plate in a yearly series). One piece goes a long way...
cdsilva,
That is how the seller with these "stock photos" pictured them in use (jelly beans..for that touch of color). I generally see Steuben cigarette urns advertised and the secondary market as toothpick holders.
I prefer, or should I say my wife prefers, the Cartier A Paul Revere Reproduction 874 sterling silver bowl for treats. Style and saviour-faire are everything.
Several years ago I gave my wife the Saskia Marcotti Boot Bag for Vlaemsch . This took some imagination.
We were not looking for vintage bedding but some unused and slightly used but pristine sets showed up today for a mere $8.50 all by Vera Neumann, USA's version of op/pop and flower power prints to Finland's Marimekko. And we just realized that most of the anonymous crazy patterns we had bought in the past were all by Vera as well. Not high design (although a textile pattern by her is at the MoMa's permanent collection), they are fun and very useful vintage stuff, it's like sleeping on a mod optical art.
16" Dansk wenge double sided tray, part of the Rare Woods line. It was probably designed after 1964, as it is not part of that year's catalog. Wenge is one of my favorite woods for smalls due to its striking grain contrast. This piece becomes the third Rare Woods item in the collection (wenge ice bucket and mutenye tray being the other two)
