Randomly checking something on DA today and came accross your post about "bullet " shaped desk.
9 years later !! .Is this a record? You most probably do not have the desk anymore.

Enjoying this Braun KF20 for the first time. Bought it several years ago but it was so clean I've always been reluctant to use it. I'm happy the scare is over and it can stand proudly in the kitchen, now.
@bj have a picture?

@bj Wow, nice one! It's amazing that Braun was able to make products in the 70s that look like 70s design but still have nothing of what is somehow disturbing about 70s design. These clean lines are very beautiful, and although orange is not necessarily my color, it goes wonderfully with this coffee machine. I'm very impressed. And I'm also impressed by the prices they sell for today.
But at least as important, since I'm a coffee guy: How's the coffee?

Hi Herringbone,
Thanks for the compliments!
In the past I had a lot of Braun items (mostly audio), mainly in white which indeed has lots of appeal for its austerity. I still shave with an old model. As you mention this model is somewhat different. And indeed, normally I stay away from these obvious colors.
Coffee is good! I read somewhere that it was awful, but I guess that was more of a comment to these automatic drip machines in general. And as I am kind of used to this type of coffee I can say it delivers.
Also a beauty. But kinda reminds me of my father. He might have had one, too.
And I'm glad you like the coffee! It can be a bummer if you love a design but it doesn't really meet the expectation as far as function goes. We once had this very nice and rather expensive Stelton kettle which looked gorgeous in our kitchen but ...

Yes, it s a huge disappointment when you've hunted down a certain item (sometimes for years) and then it lets you completely down 😭
One of the last finds, which didnt disappoint was this full blooded Venini chandelier, by Gio Ponti. Its an early one and was chosen by the family which I bought it from in the Murano workshop itself, somewhere in the fifties.
The first time I saw that Braun KF20 coffee maker was in the set of the Alien movies, then it became an addiction. The KF30 was a better coffeemaker because it can keep the coffee hot (a timer was added in later Braun models) which became the model for many other coffee maker brands. Aesthetically, the KF30 is not as elegant and unique as the KF20.
That is a very nice Murano chandelier, very cool find jb.
Hey! Yes, I remember it to from Alien. It also starred a Planta coatstand by Castelli, but spraypainted in silver, if I am correct.
Waw, your Braun pieces look immaculate!
The radio is a Hans Gugelot design, I believe? I adored the white laquered glass scale and button configuration, which were implemented in numerous cases.
I've owned a PKG3 and a G11, with that same interface.
This model I've always 'lusted' for, but didn't come up on my radar: TS-G
Thanks @bj, the radio is the RCS9 (also the Atelier 1 with the turntable on top) and is by Dieter Rams so is the Regie system that could be wall mounted but needs a wide wall which I am running out of. I have yet to encounter the TS-G by Hans Gugelot and it is probably easier to find there in the EU than here in the USA and probably would cost a fortune if it ever shows up here like my dream acquisition, the Braun Studio 1 hifi unit by Hans Gugelot and Herbert Lindiger. You are lucky to have the Braun PKG3 and G11, these rarely shows up in the USA, I wouldn't mind adding those in the collection.
Collecting Braun used to be so much fun a few decades back when they were just being sold as old electronics/small appliances and nobody wants them. Now they are icons of design being included in design museum collections and cost a fortune nowadays.
