SLIGHTLY OFF TOPIC AND HISTORICAL
we had a fairly lengthy discussion a while ago about garage doors. Folks wondering if there were any variants that would look good on mid century homes. Most garage doors are pretty unattractive.
I had mine replaced recently. The one installed is by Clopay, which is pretty commonplace, I think Home Depot sells them. The frame is all aluminum (can be had in many colors, this is just metal). The glass is obscure glass. I think it works pretty well. Not that pricey, either.
Carry on.
Spanky,
For the most part we exclsuively use Hackman cookware (Dahlstrom 98, Party, Avanti and All Steel) at both our homes. Odd ball items like theTimo Sarpaneva cast iron pot for Iittala and the Richard SapperLa Cintura di Orione fish poacher for Alessi are exceptions.
The Dansk Designs France IHQ Kobenstyle enamel pot with cover will be used this weekend for Easter eggs and then displayed or packaged and filed. Hnece there is no need to hunt for the opposite colors to make a complete matched set.
By chance I found a Finel* enemel covered roasting pan made in Finland today for $1.56 at Goodwill. The origial colors of this piece are red and white. For $2.20 total I have an interesting set of "vintage" cookware.
This type of "low end" product is at the bottom of my list and represents fun only. When I run across and "young person" with design envy and no funds, I will give to them for their daily use.
I hope everyone gets a good chocolate bunny for Easter.
* a lunatic on Etsy is dreaming of $135.00 for this piece
Waffle- I have a tray problem as well. I'm supposed to give my thrifting partner a $1 for every new one I buy to keep myself in check!
I may have a lounge chair problem as well, I picked this up yesterday (it will be the fourth one I've owned) I think this one will make the cut, love the color (2 black, 1 brown in the past)
Thanks Lief!
It looks better even than I expected. As I said it's sturdy and fairly reasonably priced. What's not to like? I also replaced the driveway which was a complete mess and made the house look uncared for, at least to me, who cares for it.
Yes, Aunt Mark has been elsewhere. Where where? Not here where.
Greetings design poodles!
Why I've just been caught up in a wicked frenzy of eating/drinking/laughing/traveling and basically making a fool of myself. Now I am diggin the garage doors fo shrizzle! Many lovely treasures pictured above. I'm off to lunch.
Cheerio and bunny love to all,
Aunt Mark (wearing white before Easter)
Thanks for the snappy Mark!
And what a room! And what a floor!
What wood species is that? (I can't tell from the angle, and then some of the things they are making flooring out of these days are not the "usual suspects").
And I really like seeing a whole Minerva set assembled in one place... Makes my eyes happy.
