@waffle
That's what I keep telling my wife! At least I'm not out drinking, doing drugs or gambling. I'm just picking up furniture at 10pm at night, 40 miles away...

You're mad -- you're all mad.  But I love you anyway.

Neato chair, tchp.  Is it comfortable ?  I'd worry about letting the grandkids stand on that bottom stretcher . . . !

SDR, I would say it is very comfortable in terms of its geometry, and how your arms naturally lie on the armrests as you lean back in it.  However, the uncushioned backrest might grow uncomfortable to some over time.

One of the interesting aspects of chair design is the degree to which the designer expects his back support to actually be employed and enjoyed by the user.  When a Windsor chair provides comfort to the sitter who leans back and engages the spindles, a minor miracle might be claimed.
Hans Wegner clearly expected the user of the Peacock chair to  enjoy his splay of spindles; perhaps Sonna Rosen expected the owner of this chair to supply a pillow or cushion.
Anyone ?

Oo, this is a good topic for a stand-alone thread, no?  When do cushions enhance a design and when do they detract, and why?
(Warning:  i have opinions on this subect.  As if you couldn't guess)

Well, let's hear you opinions then. I, for one, am curious.

Remember, I am proposing cushions for comfort (ergonomics) rather than as style accouterments. But, hey, it's Saturday -- let's go wild !
Doilies and antimacassars, next week . . .
