Hi!
Today I bought my first ever dart board.  Yup.  It came into my fav local charity thrift and I couldn't resist.  I also bought a pair of candlesticks, but left them in my car.  I don't remember.  I brought the wine, the gals baked treats..and I wore pink.

we just bought our first ping pong table.  Maybe we're part of a larger movement?
Someone donated a HUGE Baker dining table with 2 leaves and 8 chairs to our local thrift.  It's hard to describe, rococo?  Neo grecian by way of French empire?  It's a stylistic mess but well made (since it is Baker) and worth bunches.  I told the guy who runs it that I would try to give him an idea of worth.
Thank god it's not my style.

Yes, but if Baker made a Rococo Ping-Pong table...paddles included, I'd become quite interested in a match and would try to dress appropriately.  And the candle holders (gift boxed) were from last evening's charity silent auction.  Nambe.  I wore a sweet jacket lent to me by SDR or EamesHead??....I forget.

Best,
Your Aunt Mark

I was able to acquire another Quistgaard ice bucket today.  It is pretty angular, so I balanced it all out by getting the serving spoon also.

Oh, what a surprise. I bought this perforated cone lamp online without seeing it lit expecting a nice simple clean design. Imagine my surprise to find it mostly blacked out and featuring images of a double amputee starfish and a narwhal from space invaders. I'm stunned really.

Keewee: Benjamin Moore Paints.  This is the "Regal Select" paint, eggshell sheen.  The grey color's name is "Nickel"

AndreaS- my dad has 9 of those shelves. I do believe that they can be taken apart. There is a piece in the middle of the shelf that gets knocked back with a flathead screwdriver. Then you can squeeze the shelf so that it comes apart from the side walls. The shelves can be linked together. I would also like to know who made them. My dad says that they were his dads so I'm guessing they are from at least the 1960s.

@ Muehlebach, wow, 9 shelves linked together must be nice!
I checked and actually I guess it can be disassembled, the parts are not welded but just wedged in...
where are you located? Us? have your family always lived there?
I bought them on ebay from Belgium, it looks like a reasonable imitation of Tjerk Reijenga's Pilastro free standing metal shelf, or an earlier version... I can't find many information on that designer.
If I understand correctly, his Pilastro wall unit was an imitation of Nisse Strinning's String System. So who knows, maybe his shelf was an imitation of something else... any info on Reijenga's work would be appreciated, not because I need an attribution of this shelf (I'm fine with it), but because I'm also curious of the work of this designer.
best,
Andrea

@AndreaS My family has always lived in the US but my grandfather was stationed in England for awhile. I have no idea if he bought them while in Europe or not. My grandmother can barely remember my name any more so she wont be any help. We don't have any short shelves like you have. I wish we had a few. I think you are lucky in that regard.
