Today I adopted a small animal (it was "fish and pick" day at the charity thrift). I ain't got no clue 'bout it, 'cept for it's got Denmark stamped on its belly...and it tastes like chicken...and she's missin' some picks. Hi, Aunt Mark

Oh my god waffle,
you are (as usual) correct. I'll serve it with rice and asparagus, and vodka.
Best and many thanks,
Aunt Mark

I found this unknown screw nutcracker. I have attempted all homework possible with no results in determining he manufacture. Does anyone recognize this symbol on the top?

GOOD LINES
on that chair! Very distinct!
I bought a pair of Bitossi/Raymor lamps yesterday. Good news. The person who handled them JUST BEFORE ME dropped one on it's edge. Bad News. Minor damage but GEEZ. I think I can repair it but still makes my heart sink, such good looking items.

still geeking out over this Loewy desk I picked up earlier this week (not shown: more mess---still trying to fit all of my crap into a tiny little office). All that's missing is the cork board attachment.

Picked up this second series Eames ESU desk at a yard sale today for a song. Needs some cleaning up, but I am over the moon.

awesome find jesgord
Was that desk meant as a "stand alone" model, or was it one part of the two part office unit? I recall another big part to this (office?) design, that completed an "L" configuration.
Either way, it is a great and very rare find.
I love the plywood edge, which most of the early desk designs didn't have.
Congratulations.

There is a small return that I have seen this desk paired with. Not sure if they always came together or if desk could be purchased stand alone. Plan on digging into the Neuhart books when I get home to see what more I can learn.

yes
The return that tucks under this desk, has a three-drawer unit with short legs and a narrower depth top.
I recall seeing the three-drawer return for this desk, without it's top, and being incorrectly offered as a stand-alone "ESU three-drawer unit", and wondering why the legs were so short!
Probably yet another creative 1st Dibs offering?
I bet the guy still has the top of the return stashed away somewhere in his back room, if you wanted to approach him about it.
I can see how the return would not make sense to try to sell as a stand-alone piece, as it would have no support for the top surface on one long end that rested on the desk surface.
But it would be awkward to approach the guy, because to inquire you would essentially be saying his listing was at best an error or at worst totally bogus. Especially if he still had the rest of it.
This all said, the desk stands alone much better, as it at least has four legs! (Balance and design- wise though, it still might need the missing return. However I would still DIE to have it AS IS!)
edit: found it. 1st dibs guy not offering as "3 drawer unit", but as "3 drawer shelf". The drawers have the same chrome pulls. It's definitely the return for this desk. Only missing the top surface.

The desk works as is (very sturdy) wirhout the return. Undoubtedly, one of my best yard sale finds in a long time. I'll just have to keep my eye out for the other piece at next weekend's sales. 😉

I got a Finn Juhl Japanese chair last week. The seat will need new upholstery, but the condition of the wood is about perfect. For several years I have owned the ottoman that goes with this chair, and have have been looking for a chair for a while.
I plan to have it re-upholstered with a contrasting seat cushion, like the one that is in the Finn Juhl House/Museum.
