1965. VERY happy to find a piece of their work. They would have to be my favourite Canadian potters. First piece I've ever found.

Thanks Auntie Mark!
The international love heart design is proof that Alexander loves us all, and in particular you Aunt Mark.
WoodyWood, the stuffed olive foot is big, like 23" high by 16" wide. It does have a major repair but i could'nt leave it.
Gilhooly was a california "funk" artist that was very preoccupied with frogs. When removing the stuffed foot from it's outdoor location where it had been for many years, it actually had baby frogs living in its hollow center.

I saw a couple of Gilhooly's solo shows in San Francisco (I think in the late 70s) I picked up a frog chip cookie for 5 dollars for a christmas gift for my sister. Little frog faces.
(Not to be confused with the nerve cookie Mark)

it's the little things
We had functional, rather clunky, Costco stools in our kitchen. Picked up 3 of these yesterday. Big improvement. Had to haggle with the price. Also did a little futzing with plumbing supplies to raise them a couple of inches. Now we just need a new stove and hood and our kitchen work is done. It was alot of work.

stevieg, I absolutely love...
stevieg, I absolutely love the color of the walls in that second picture! Do you happen to know the shade?
I got three more Eames chairs over the weekend, making a total of six. I'm pretty sure I've still got little hearts in my eyes because of the yellow ones!

sometimes
when I lay my chubby noggin gently upon my LCW, I can hear the good lord Jesus speak to me in broken English mixed with Detroit jive. I blame Ray.
Congrats on the yellow chairs,
Aunt Mark

Guilty as charged! Yellow is...
Guilty as charged! Yellow is my favorite color, and the timing was serendipitous - I was just about to bid on two yellow shells that were in kind of rough shape, when I went into that antique store and found these two, which came with bases and just need a cleaning. I couldn't be happier with them.
