Todays thing was from my fav charity store, being a mirror made of brass, steel, and raw deer meat. I will move it to the left tomorrow (concrete wall, so I'll have to use my front tooth and a masonry drill bit).

oh god, is it tacky? Hi. I think that it's old, as it was filthy. Hi.

Aunt Mark

it has
a sort of hollywood, high style to it. Barbara stanwyck would look terrific checking her lipstick in that thing...just after getting someone killed.

I'll admit
I do like the huge mirror better. Here's Kyle the mouthbreather.

Aw . . .
He's just huffy 'cause his laces have come loose -- you can see them in the foreground.
Papier maché ? Ceramic ? Carved deer meat ? He's kinda cute, anyhoo.

Hi.
I was quite surprised to receive a telephone call from the gals at the resale shop this morning, as It is the 4th of July here in Florida. So armed with cookies and cheap champagne, I threw on a festive pair of Lilly Pulitzer shorts, pink shirt, and simple sensible loafers... braved a light sprinkling of raindrops...and went to see the lamp that the gals had stashed away for me to see first. It is an Artemide Melampo Notte (or close to that). It has a quite interesting pivoting shade.
Hi.

ps,
the filthy mirror has been rehung (up 3 inches, left 9 inches), and my flamboyant designer neighbor tells me that the mirror is made of hammered brass and hammered bronze and raw deer meat. He believes that the manufacturer is a company called LaBarge, circa 1980. But I'm probably wrong.
Still Hi,
Aunt Mark

The Moller gods are shinning...
The Moller gods are shinning on me!! Picked up a set of rosewood #82 chairs and extendable table. Pieces are in excellent condition, with solid joints and amazing grain patterns. Was wondering how would I go about touching then up to have them glowing again, would it be a bit of teak oil with steel wool and a bit of paste wax? Also thinking of redoing seats in a dark brown leather...thoughts? Tks in advance for your comments and feedback

found this Borge Mogensen set today, wing back chair, coupe sofa, three arm chairs and it was immediately mine.
The cushions are randomly distributed...

Those are fierce, waldorf!
Today I stopped into my sweet neighborhood resale shop to say hello, and Liz (manager) brought me out 12 of these Copco (sp?) orange porcelain platters. I'm not sure what to do with them, but they seem like excellent quality and in perfect shape.
why not?

Why not indeed!
You better not re-donate those, Aunt Mark! How big are they? Would they be good for individual au gratins? Scalloped potatoes with ham? Not now but in the dead of winter when it is probably 65 degrees out down there and you all are shivering and in need of something hot and filling.
I have a Copco collection and I've never seen those. They're lovely.
