Hi rosewood.
I also don't really understand why the 1964 Impala is so coveted amongst callow collectors. I just don't know.
Best,
Aunt Impala

Mark,
The Galaxie was my granddads car he inherited from his Aunt. She drove it to church on Sunday in Weed California and he only cruised it to the A&W for root beer floats. I was told at a car rally that the cardboard on the floor in the trunk was original from to the factory.
It is indeed very brutal, crazy huge and gets something like 8 miles to the gallon. But it does have swagger.

Remy Lounge Chair
Woodywood, Is that Tejo Remy? The funky rope chair designer? I can't believe the upholstery on that bad boy. Super clean.

Rope
The Remy lounge chair is by Jeffrey Bernett for Bernhardt Design. I picked up a lightly used one for a good price. The upholstery doesn't look quite so clean in person, but it is pretty nice overall.

'64 Impala
As a car guy and a design guy it came to me that 99% of cars until 1963 relied on curves in their design. The slab sided '64 was a departure much like modern architecture was to the previous era. Many people embraced that new design.

Did your wife provide the desk for her work, or did her work provide the desk for her? If the latter, at what kind of place does she work?

She provided it. It would be pretty spectacular to show up to a job, any job, and be presented with a Gunni Omann #75 as your own personal work desk.... That would be amazing.

first time - long time
just a couple of neat recent purchases.
a Robert Indiana Love poster. I have no idea if it is original, but it has the right markings for the 1971 reprinting. Wife will want to keep it for sure.
a pair of weird but neat rattan mushroom hassocks. The frame is nice, solid metal. Some of the rattan needs a little attention. A simple job.
