I recently acquired a practical people mover to use as my daily transportation. Wicked fast.
Aunt "M"
ps of course I considered a hybrid, but I simply don't have the proper wardrobe for such a lifestyle. Carry on.

. . . and handsome, too ! (So is the car.) [smiley face here]
EamesHead, maybe you could convince glassartist to send you a simple side tracing of that neato lounge -- it would save the time and trouble of arriving at the correct profile, and it would respect the work of the designer ?

nice catch-it-all! this was designed by Sol for New Dimensions Furniture, earlier called Designed for Moderns - my father's short-lived furniture business. the link's to the catalog cover, showing the catch-it-all, if I worked photobucket right. thought you might be interested.

Re: Your suggestion to convince glassartist to send me a tracing of the edge of the plywood chaise...
I am not good at asking for favors I guess...
...but it would be more respectful of the original design. But then why stop there? I could also ask glassartist for detailed photos of the dowel cross-pieces that stabilize the sides, along with the exact measurements of the slats! And overall width.
Heck glassartist, why not just go ahead and send me the chaise?
A map of the edge is a great idea though. Thank you for the thought SDR.

glad to know that people appreciate the piece - until recently, I didn't know that anyone outside of my family had even heard of Designed for Moderns . ..
