silverline chair
thank you guys so much for the info on the france & son chair. though it's not visible in the picture, there's unfortunately some significant structural damage on the underside of one of the legs which the previous owner tried to fix (with screws). The bad news is that the fix looks like shit, but it's stable and not really visible.
I've got a couple young kids, so I'm going with a durable knoll fabric until the kiddos get a bit older.
asd
Knoll has some beautiful fabrics but a lot of their most durable ones are also very synthetic in looks and feel. Personally, I'd go with Hallingdal by Kvadrat/Maharam. It's been in production since the 60s and a lot of fine Danish furniture was upholstered with it back then and since. It has a wear rating of 100,000+ (very, very durable).
The good news is that you can find remnants online for less than the wholesale price. Modern-Fabrics.com usually has some though you might want to run their listings by your upholsterer first to make sure he or she can get work out the layout. A lot of their listings are for a bunch of smaller lengths sold as one lot. Still, worth looking into.

Trick of the light?
It seems to me that the sofa in that ad is possibly slightly different? The base of that sofa doesn't appear to be parallel with the armrest, like it is on asd's sofa. It seems to me that the legs on the sofa in the ad are splayed...
Look at how the light hits the base of both the sofa and the table. The middle is in shadow, while the ends are all being exposed to light. Maybe it's just a trick of the light, but to me it looks like the legs are extending diagonally, not straight, from the center of the base (sorry, can't think of a better way to describe it...)...
