well Mark... the
Low 56 H
not here yet, still low-flying
ETA wednesday
Funny, my small footprint "living-womb" has very tall and windowed walls, but everything I like to put in it is low low low. I guess creating a lower level with the furniture makes more volume of negative "air space" vertically, and makes the room feel bigger. Maybe that is why I crave low stuff so much. And sitting low, you almost have to look UP.
I guess stretching the extremes of "high and low" is my attempt to just accent or book-end the emptiness and light that is in in the middle.
(Tell House Kebab that I am self-actualizing again)
By the way Mark, your green and pink with orange shoes combo reminds me of a great Willem de Kooning painting. Amazing color combos he got away with, just like you always do!
The spending spree continues
I bought this christofle picture frame today at auction in my town

Bornholm Teak Telephone Bench
. . . off of craigslist. Plenty of water stains on the table top portion. I did a quick pass with Restore-A-Finish when I got it home, which improved the appearance by 50-75% (before/after photos below). Next pass will be with some oxalic acid. I've had good luck with OA on black stains on oak, but have not yet tried it on teak.
I bought this table at the weekend
In the style of Jean Royere, it's very nice quality with solid brass fittings, I certainly wouldn't want to try and get that glass replaced these days. I'm sure it will look much better when I've stripped that treacly varnish that somebody saw fit to paint it with some time ago!

Barkeeper's Friend at 10% oxalic acid works great on black marks on teak! Some here have said to leave it on overnight but my recent experience has been that 10-20 minutes will do it on some stains. I would just check it often and remove it as soon as the stain is gone.
It does remove the oil and can leave the wood dry but that's easily fixed.
