It's as hideous as $4.83
When I saw it I thought it looked unusual, so I bought it. Sometimes the unusual gets you good sometimes it doesn't. The Basset surfboard side table below it was bought the same day at the same place for $5 more than I paid for the lamp. So it's a wash.

if nothing else....
omit the glass globe and killer fiber optics and bolt the top to the base,to make a less ugly lamp, and then make a hanging lamp from the globe..when your on the pinch a little creativity goes a long way...that said,, just buy what you like.....

Chintz Factor
It definitely has lots of Chintz Factor for sure! It wasn't going to end up in our den with the Cado and other items I've acquired and am in the process of refinishing, but I figured it for my "Man Cave"...there's shag carpet in good shape down there! Once I get the shade made I'll post it and see what you "Stylistas" think.

Death and Design
Heath started a new thread on cremation, but I think this would make a nice creamtion urn. Keep the fiber optics - it won't harm the already-charred ashes... kind of like an eternal flame.
