Just wondering if anybody can tell me the genealogy of ladderax shelving and its successive features? Any old Heal's? catalogues lying around?
My dad has an old system which I assume is made of teak, but the shelves and the wood are darker (see first pic below). However it's NOT rosewood.
I have just acquired my own set of shelves which are more orangey teak. Not only this, but the shelves have a ridge carved into their edges, which my father's set do not.
I've since read that Ladderax had an evolution of sorts from darker wood to lighter wood, and indeed I've found some pictures of a bureau unit in very light wood.
So how did this stuff evolve? I'm guessing that my dad's is from the 60s... the lighter teak and other woods are from the 70s?
