Ice storms are no fun and scary too. Stick close to loved one and stay safe.

Dear LRF
Good to know that you are doing relatively well. Some years ago we lived through a similar ice-storm and anyone who has seem it knows how frustrated it is to see and hear trees coming down, powerlines spread on the ground, people evacuating etc. There was even a black market for fire wood. Fortunately we had enough wood and slowly gave up one room after the other to the the freezing temperature in order to safe on the wood we had. Only few lives were lost but it certainly is a challenging ordeal. We will be thinking about you!

Thanks all for the kind ...
Thanks all for the kind words and well wishes
you never know how much it is appreciated ,
I have lived here for 56 years with living in Houston and NYC also, for periods of time,
I have never seen any thing like this, not just the power that is shut off but the tree devastation it is really horrible and of course it will take years to get really pretty again,
on a sad note a real fine attorney that I know lost his life in the snow storm his power when out and he was trying to keep warm with a fire in his fire place embers flew out caught the house on fire and he died and his wife is in critical condition, such sad things as this storm was deadly,
Koen how are you feeling since your bypass operation? getting stronger everyday, I bet, I know I and everyone wishes you a speedy recovery and looking forward to your great replys to our questions.
