I need to replace the foam in my Knoll tulip chairs... Does anyone know where I can buy the foam for these chairs. The foam is crumbling and to replace a new cushion with fabric via Knoll is almost $300 per cushion. I would like to recover the cushions myself or find a less expensive cushion that would fit the chair. I would appreciate any leads...

latex foam source
You can buy slab latex foam from foamorder.com and shape them yourself. There was another discussion about this just recently here.
I made some from scratch (nothing to copy, just a few photos) using polyurethane foam and I don't recommend it. It doesn't have nearly the resilience of latex and just didn't feel right. I've sat on the real thing since I made the fake ones and there's no comparison.

My dear, It will be a cold day in hell before I'd consider reusing the disgarded undergarments of perfect strangers. Are you for real?

A sweet gal named Maryannescot
Had her panties all tied in a knot.
I just want to slap her
Because her tulip smells like snapper
As the stuffing had began to rot.

i am going to recommend, stick with the more conventional way to recover the tulip pads.
If you have to scrimp to recover the pads with old panties and tampon cotton, I personally think you really don't need to worry about recovering the pads.
I would be worrying about other things that need to be taken care that are more important.
