Greetings from the midwest. Yesterday, at the thrift store, I saw what I thought to be a coffee table from the late 60's. It was cheap, so I bought it without doing any checking on the underside. When I returned home, I flipped it over and saw two things. The first is a small, plastic, square symbol. It's black with a white animal symbol etched into it. It looks a bit like an eagle. The second thing was the old information sticker. Unfortunately, most of it is illegible or gone. What I can make out is that the language is German. The delivery date was 10.01.1965. The only words I can make out (it's in some cool typewriter font) are "essen lager." My German's rusty, but I imagine that means something like pub table or beer table or something of the sort. Given that, I also realized that, because the base is hydraulic, the minimum and maximum heights make it more suitable to be an eating/drinking table rather than a coffee table.
In any case, this could be the German equivalent of Lane Bryant for all I know (or, perhaps, a Knoll, since I'm just now realizing that the bird of prey is vaguely in the shape of a K), but it's a beautiful table, and if anyone can help me identify the maker, I would be incredibly grateful.
